Objective |
| The contest for new translators is held every year to discover and encourage promising new translators of Korean literature. |
Description |
| The contest is held annually in seven different languages, and the results will be based on the translation submitted of the selected work. |

| Those who have not been a recipient of any grant from LTI Korea or previously published translated Korean literature in the target language |
| Selected Work for the translation: select one of the Korean literary works indicated below. (table) |

| English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Japanese (7 languages) |
Award |
| Winner : One grand prize and one commendation prize per language |
| ※ If there is no first winner in a language category, two Encouragement Awards will be given. |
First Prize |
| 3,000,000 won |
Second Prize |
| 1,500,000 won |
| ※ A round-trip flight ticket and lodging will be provided for an award winner living overseas. |

How to Apply |
| Register as a member of LTI Korea homepage and apply online. |
* It is possible to submit everything by mail in case of the problem with online system at LTI Korea website. All the applications are available for download from LTI Korea’s website (www.klti.or.kr). |
Application Schedule |
Apply between August 1~31, 2009. The results will be posted on LTI Korea homepage on October 20, 2009, and the contestants will also be individually notified.
The Award Ceremony Date is December 10, 2009.
